Default Is our K1 screwed up???

Hello all,

Perhaps someone here can use his/her expertise to help me figure out what
the heck is going on with my fiance's K1. Here is the chain of events:

09/13/2003 - send in application for K1
09/22/2003 - receive NOA1
10/16/2003 - This is when things get messed up. I check status online...it
says USCIS sent something but it was returned on 10/15/2003, so I should
update my address (my apartment complex changed their address but they also
set up automatic forwarding...this is very strange)
10/17/2003 - I update my address and ask for a non-delivery (resend of last
letter).
11/15/2003 - receive confirmation of address change and non-delivery
request, but they have my name misspelled (how the heck?). I call and fix
the error.
12/23/2003 - receive confirmation of name correction

Here is the problem. I STILL haven't received the letter they sent me on
10/15. I have no idea WHAT they sent me since it was less than a month
after NOA1. My case status online still hasn't changed from the 15th, so I
get the feeling they haven't TRIED to send me anything but these damn
confirmations.

I am going to call them tomorrow but I am wondering what the heck is going
on...did they really try to send me something? Why haven't they sent it
again? Why hasn't my case status changed? Is my application being delayed
because of this?

Someone please help calm my nerves...our wedding is scheduled for July...I
applied in September and was expecting to have the K1 ready by March...she's
Canadian so I hope things will go fast once it is accepted!

Thanks,
Osman

Osman,

I understand how you feel. I also had address issues with my K1. My
1st NOA was returned to them for a bad address. My address was
correct though. I unfortunatly have no idea what they would send you.
What center are you going thru? If it is Vermont, it could be a REF,
if one of the other centers I do not know. My guess it is a Request
for more Evidence.

Back when you could call the Service Centers I called them about the
address issue, and they said it did not matter if they got a letter
back from a bad address they still go forward with the case. I got my
2nd Notice and other correspondance without any problems. Good Luck.

Scotty,

Thanks for you r input. I went through the TSC. The letter was actually
returned to them on the 10th...18 days after the receive date! They
wouldn't send an RFE that quick would they?

If my address changed, would the PO notify them even if the letter was
properly delivered? I am wondering if that is what happened. My apartment
changed their address, and the PO still routes mail from the old address
automatically...so maybe they told the USCIS about my address change after
delivering the NOA1?
