Hi I'm new here and thanks for everyone's interesting input and I learned a lot from here. Just wondering if we could set up a designated thread for timelines for New Yorkers who are currently in the black hole of waiting for an interview date. It seems to me NBC or NYC is processing simutaniously three time frame cases: those with RD before 2002 (group-A); RD in mid 2003 (group-B); and early 2004 (group-C). I've seen people are getting their interview letters throughout all the three timeframes. Anyway, my timeline is:

K1: AOS RD 09/26/03
FP recieved 11/06/03

We applied for AOS in New York City August of 2003, got fingerprinted November 2003 and have been waiting ever since. I hope alot of people post their timelines as I am curious, too, see various NYC postings of recently filed people getting their AOS letters.

Here's our timeline:

7/12/04 - mailed I-485 (AOS) and I-765 (EAD)
7/13/04 - AOS package arrived at NYC District Office
7/22/04 - NOA1 (AOS)
7/22/04 - NOA1 (EAD)
7/26/04 - received both NOAs in the mail
7/28/04 - Fingerprinting and biometrics appointment
8/02/04 - Fingerprint results received by USCIS
8/23/04 - Received AOS interview appointment
10/7/04 - AOS Interview

Congrats! Mecca, another reeeeeeeel fast one (group C, see my original post). I've also seen several with March or April RD of this year got their AOS appointment within 2-4 month of filing. As far as "group A" concerned, they are actually processing more and more this group these days. Any "group B"- that is, those who filed sometime in 2003, got letters of AOS interview yet? Please post.

What is RD?

BTW NVC does not have anything to do with AOS within the US. It is the NBC/MSC that are now responsible for the initial processing of the I-485 from almost all district offices countrywide.

Rete, for RD, I guess it stands for Receipt Date. I actually learnt it from this forum. For the AOS letter, what I was asking was, whether it is sent out directly from NBC, or from New York City DO, where you initially sent your package to? Thanks.

Does anyone get an updated case report saying the file is transfered to NYC local office for processing? I do mean here the "marriage based AOS" when the path is NYC - NBC - NYC. Usually the case status look like this: "...On January xx, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in NEW YORK, NY for processing. Our office in NEW YORK, NY will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete." I've seen some EB I485 filers did get such report (can be found on New York transfer thread) where their path is something like VSC- NBC- NYC.

I did a little random search on THE official website. one example, on one case MSC03332xxxxx, although we don't know if he filed as EB or FB I485 (that is whether he originally sent to Vermont SC or to NYC local), Missouri center recorded or receive package on 8/29/03, now, on 1/23/04, his file was sent to NYC for final processing, or the interviewing line up. How many will actually get this status update?

09/08/03 - mail in AOS, EAD, AP to NY Fed Plaza office
09/18/03 - NOA's arrive in mail for AOS, EAD, AP stating case tx to MSC
11/04/03 - biometric photo & fingerprints successfully completed
11/17/03 - online stat says EAD & AP is approved
11/21/03 - AP arrives in the mail (-:
11/24/03 - Permanent EAD card arrives in mail


08/16/04 - applied again to renew EAD & another AP
