Hi everyone. Thank you to everyone who shares their knowledge and views on this forum. I have been reading with great interest and thank all who have answered my various questions!
I am very happy to hear that my USC fiancée has received my signed G325A and statement of intent, as well as my US sized passport pictures. She has her documents ready, G325A, I-129F, pictures, copy of her birth certificate etc and will be sending it off to USCIS in the morning!
She also filled in the form that promises electronic (e-mail/txt) updates, so I hope that we do receive these things! So our long journey begins. I will order my police certificate as soon as I get home from work (I work away from home for spells) and I will look at the forms required for the London phase.
I can book a medical as soon as I have a case number? Want to get ahead where I can. Still, something makes me a little nervous. My mother was adopted and passed away years ago. So... on the G325A I cannot complete all the info on her. I do not know her birth name or place of birth. I only know where she was adopted and when. I do know her date of birth though. Hope this is not an issue. Adopted name and birthday provided... place of birth unknown.... but a UKC.
Anyway, if there is interest I'll keep this thread up to date when there are developments!

Yes - but that will be 4 or 5 months from now... after the I-129F is approved and sent to London.
None of this will be an issue. The G-325A is a legacy form left over from the days of the former INS. The form itself is pretty much a complete waste of time and energy, but the requirement to include it was never dropped when things got reorganized a number of years ago. Still, people fret over it as though the form has some actual value in the process.
Good luck to you!
Ian

CONGRATULATIONS!
I hope it goes as quickly for you guys as it did for us. I have a soft spot for guys named Craig (it's my Fiance's name lol).
You can do your medical at the end of Phase 1 and beginning of Phase 2 when the NVC receives your packet from USCIS and assigns it an LND number. Knightsbridge won't work with you, I don't think, until you have your LND number AND your police certificate.
Good luck!

Thank you Noorah, Ian & Katiekat.
Noorah, we have included the evidence of having met! Thanks for the reminder though! :-) Thanks for the comment regarding my mums info. Appreciate it.
Ian, really appreciate the info! I'm glad the form is not that important. I've just been looking at DS-230 that will be required for London. Now THAT will be a tough one. I've lived in MANY homes in my lifetime. Also one of the forms ask for details of all visits to US. That is tough too, as when I worked on the cruise ships we got issued some kind of form (not a Visa) Cant remember the number. It was fixed in passport and removed later. So don't think I can list the port calls in the US. Old stamped entries can be found in my passport, but departure dates cannot. DS-230 looks like a headache!!
Oh, where the forms ask for an address. What does "province" mean for Brits? Is it the County?
I do hope that the process follows a similar timeline for us as it did for you Katiekat! However, no way of knowing.
Oh, one last question! I was looking at the K1 flowchart on here, do the forms required for London get sent to them (a copy anyway), then the originals (plus another copy) are required to be taken to the interview?
THANK you to all 3 of you. Your input is very much appreciated!

Documents and photocopies are NOT mailed but simply taken to the interview--birth certificate, police report, previous divorce decrees, etc

Remember... to the best of your memory. You aren't required to show proof of any of these addresses or dates, but you are required to demonstrate due diligence when completing the forms.

Complete the form to the best of your memory. If you need more space, attach a sheet of paper (or two).

No... county and province are not the same. If you don't have a province (such as you might in Canada - ie. Ontario), then just draw a line through that bit.
Yes.

As for the previous addresses question, understood! Thank again Ian.

A heads up--The DS-156K form says to attach documents and proof of engagement to the form (not looking at it, but something like that). London does not want you to do that, so don't get confused when you get to that document. Just mail in the forms I listed and save your documents for the interview. The Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) with proofs of income also is taken to the interview. Other consulates may do it a different way, but this is London's preferred way of receiving your documents for a K1 visa.
