Default MSC news from state rep's office, for I129F K3

here's the response I got today from my state rep's office. They were
very kind and courteous....

"As of 1/9 they are still working on Sept. 30, 2002. The INS received
7,735 K3 applications last November. The normal processing dates
given on the receipt is incorrect due to the large number of
applications received. The backlog is the problem. It will probably
be a couple more months till they are processing those received on
your filing date. INS is not expecting further problems due to
Homeland Security at this time. It will still be a lot faster than if
you just filed the I-130 Petition for Alien Relative which is taking
18 - 20 months at this time. If you want to contact me in 30 days I
will check the status again for you. When President Clinton passed the
Life Act allowing citizens to file the K3, it backlogged the system
horribly due to all the new applications INS received."

My info:
I129F for K3 at MSC
NOA1 Nov 13th
NOA2 waiting

has anyone gotten NOA2 lately?

WELL.........

My 90 day mark will be January 24, 2003. No news so far from MSC on my K3, they are still working on 9/30/02 applications, my NOA is dated 10/24/02.

What should I do? I live in New York, any advice on who to contact. Thanks.

Default confused

Once you pass the 90 days and still no NOA im sure you can contact your congressperson or senator by faxing or writing a letter to try to find out whats going on. I dont know why some people get approved b4 90 days and some ppl get approved in 180 days !!!! who do they give "preference" to?
*shrug*

What exactly does receiving 7,735 K3 applications last November have to do with them still being stuck at september 30th? It doesn't explain why they haven't moved up any dates in over a month.

Man, this sucks...

Hi.
Our K3 visa from 1st NOA to approval was 127 days, which is about average. Some are ALOT longer, it depends.
Don't expect anything before 120 days unless you are really lone of the lucky few.

Realistically, MSC is about 3-4 (more toward 4 months) behind in
processing and an addition ~2 weeks with the holidays. If your NOA is
from Nov, don't expect them to even begin looking at it till about
March. If it goes very much beyond that, then you might want to
contact your congressman.

My First NOA is dated Dec 16, 2002 so I know I've got quite a long
wait left..
