Hi gang,
I looked up our K3 online today and found out we're getting an RFE. So I
have a couple q's:
1) How long does it usually take for the RFE letter to get delivered in
the mail (My attorney says much sooner than 14 days)
2) How long does it usually take to complete processing once the
requested info is sent back to MSC?

Anyone knows? This is kind of important because I'm at a point right now
where I might just give up and go live with my wife abroad.

i can understand,i have been there,actually i had two rfe and my visa was
delayed and got approved after 7months.
yes u will recive the rfe in 7 to 10 days and when u send it back to them it
usually take 30 days after they recive,they have two office buildings when they
send u rfe they send ur file back to the other office cuz they store the files
there and when u send them the requested documents then the request the file
back to the processing office building,butafter my second rfe it took 2months
and i had to call my congress office and they got involved .

Hi!
does it happen in every INS office the same way?
We received our RFE from Nebraska. So, may be it is different in different offices?

Hi cdcib,

I was one of the first one's in our MSC Roll call to get an RFE issued
on 02/14/03 for my K3 visa. Unbeknownst to me, my lawyer received it
on 02/20/03 and responded. I am working to get a copy of the letter.
They asked for another copy of our marriage certificate. I hope the
lawyer sent the right one, we have two a religious and government
issued one.

So don't worry you will get the RFE letter soon. Also check with your
lawyer if you have one who filed for you. Call them every day!! They
sometimes don't have empathy for us who have to wait.

Hi Victor,
I myself got an RFE on Feb. 18th and received the letter on Friday the
21st. They wanted a copy of the I-130 (Long story). So I sent it back on
Saturday and USPS says MSC received it Tuesday morning. However, The status
on the INS webpage hasn't changed as of yet to reflect that.

Sorry to here your RFE was a little more complicated asking for a copy
of an I-130 but glad to know you were able to resolve it quickly.
Hopefully everything is smooth sailing for us all here on out.

If found out they wanted another copy of my civil marriage
certificate. The copy my lawyer sent was blurred a little. The seal on
the original is blurred anyways so I hope we don't get an RFE again. I
told my lawyer to send an original copy next time I don't know why
they didn't this time but she said they only want copies not
originals.

got my rfe notice today & send the info back today with next day air.dont want to waste any time.i hope now the missouri proecess all our case.guys after sending rfe pls give your date of sending the rfe & the result dont forget to post pls

my fiance recived RFE from Nebraska, but do not remember the date(the en of January), but I know that our reply took days for them to recive it. They received it on the 13 th February. We were approved in 7 days after it. But our Senator called to INS.

I'm new to this, what is a rfe? My I129F, was approved on 2/18/03. I called the
vsc to see if they have received it and she said yes, it would take 2-4 weeks
to send to Jamaica. Is there anything else I can do to speed up process?

The VSC couldn't have approved your I-129f if they hadn't received it, so what was your call really about? Or was your call made before 2/18/03?

Hi Cdcib,

My online status changed today to show that they received my
information on 02/28/03. According to the certified mail receipt
notice they actually received it on 02/25/03, which I believe is the
day when the mail room actually signed the receipt notice.

So hang there everyone with RFE's. They appear to be moving along even
after 03/1/03 change to BCIS.

The message said something about its taking 60-90 days for this type
of case to be processed but since preliminary processing has occurred
it should take less than the maximum in this message.

Will keep you informed.
