Default medical for the K-1 in Australia

when do you have to go for the medical? does it have to be the day of the interview?
or do you go anytime after getting the forms from the consulate?
thank you for any info.

You go after you get the forms and before you have your interview. You
need to bring the papers from your medical to the interview.

You go once you have the forms and the list of approved civil surgeons, in your home state. Then you take the results in a sealed envelope with you to your interview in Sydney.

When my fiance got his in Perth, it only took 2 days to schedule an appointment but I suspect every civil surgeon is different.

As others have said, you need to have the medical before having the interview
(this is one of the checklist items).

It may even be possible for you to have the medical before you receive the
forms. I was able to request the forms via fax from the Sydney consulate and
had my sealed medical results and police certificate ready even before
receiving the official letter from the consulate. I was able to send the reply
back to the consulate the day after receiving the consulate package, and had an
interview scheduled less than two weeks later!

Good luck!

Cheers,
Andrew
