Matter of Garcia calender
My removal proceeding case was put on the Matter of
Garcia calender due to the fact that I have a pending I-130. I had an
attorney with me on my very 1st removal proceeding hearing.
My question is do I need an attorney to represent me in the upcoming
2nd hearing, which in all liklihood, will probably be continued until
the BCIS has approved my pending I-130 (filed over 18 months ago).
I have no idea how long the BCIS is going to take to approve my I-130
so I am guessing I merely have to ask for continuence before the
immigration judge each time my case comes up. I dont need an attorney
for this do I? I don't like to pay for an attorny to simply show up
and ask for continuence when I can do it myself.

How about you hire an attorney for a consultation and ask him the same
question?

Re: Matter of Garcia calender
Joe,
You need to at least consult with an attorney and tell him the whole story.
There could be complications you do not know about and the deportation court
is anxious to send everybody back. It is not a good time to go
unrepresented. If you really want to see them in action. Sign on to WFAA
Television website in Dallas and search immigration.
http://www.wfaa.com/
In the menu you will find "investigates". Brett Shipp has done a whole
series on immigrants with deportation problems.
I think it will answer your question. "should I get a lawyer?"
Good Luck,
Danny
