I have just found out I am pregnant (not planned). Will this make any difference when I file my paperwork? I am now more than ever trying not to stress about the whole AOS process.

OP's situation in this thread has not caused any alarm bells to go off in my head. So, absent something we don't know about, she and her husband would be a prime candidate for DIY. However, sometimes a competent immigration lawyer is good for peace of mind, if nothing else.

[BTW, in client preparation for interviews I would say that an ideal interview is where the attorney says "good morning" at the beginning of the interview, "thank you" at the end, and nothing in between and the client wonders why the hell they paid us. But the lawyers job is to help things go smoothly. BTW, I had an "ideal interview" twice in 35 years.].

I haven't any knowledge about the visa implications, but CONGRATULATIONS on your news!

Can someone please tell me what order the forms should be submitted to adjust my status to permanent resident after I marry my fiancé? I can't afford an immigration lawyer just now and an finding it all a little confusing. I would also like to apply for permission to work.
Thanking you all in advance.

Once married, you submit form I-485, I-131, and I-765... including all the support documentation, fees, and other stuff that each requires. Concurrently, your (then) husband will file form I-864. All the forms will be sent at the same time to the address specified in the I-485. Read all the forms and the instructions for the specific support documentation required. Some of the support documentation will be duplicated... that's perfectly normal. All the forms and the instructions are available at www.uscis.gov.

The adjustment of status forms all get sent in together in one big envelope. This isn't done in stages, like a visa process.

I-130, I-485, G-325A's, I-864, I-765, and I-131 all get filed together, along with whatever back up each application asks for.

I forgot the I-130 and G-325As. Good catch.

This could be a bit misleading as there are only 4 cases being filed, not the 6 that this sentence could imply to some readers. The cases are:
I-130 petition for alien relative,
I-485 application to adjust status,
I-765 application for employment authorization, and
I-131 application for advance parole

The G-325As and the I-864 are supporting documentation ("back up"), and should be included with the appropriate case not treated as independent cases.

Regards, JEff
