If you did have the intent to get married, as has been suggested, don't admit it to USCIS and have everything absolutely in order in your package and interview including lots and lots of 'legal' proof. I even had pictures and letters, but she didnt even want to see them as I had inundated her with everything that I possibly could showing evidence.

You are already in the US, so once you're married stay and adjust status. Be aware that you are asking questions on a forum that does NOT take kindly to anyone doing things the way you have done them. And at the risk of lies, damn lies, and statistics, I once saw an estimate when I was going through the process that said over 60 percent of AOS was adjustment from visa waiver. If you have a bona fide relationship and are not doing it to get a green card, then you "should" be fine. But keep in mind every case is different, every interview different, so you could have unforeseen obstacles and get an interviewer having a really bad day and get grilled.

I wish you all the best! Congratulations and good luck!
Hi:

Point should be made that there ARE risks. You may never get into an auto accident, but you buy that insurance anyways.

Not in Colorado.

Over half have either no auto insurance or State minimum, which is near enough the same.

If you search on this board, http://britishexpats.com/forum/newre...eply&p=3454455, you will see that this subject has been done to death many many times.

It is certainly true that the majority of AOS's appear to be from non Spousal visa's, I doubt 60% from VWP, not that many people have access to the VWP. Add in Work, Student and Visitors visa's and maybe.

And you very rarely see this as an issue in itself.

Hi:

I'm not doubting Trinity's answer. It is the "truth" as to what happened in HER case. However, I am now consulting with an attorney in the MidWest in regards a case quite similar to your and CIS is proposing denial based upon purported "fraud." The attorney is quoting the applicable law left and right, and the "DAO From Hell" states she "doesn't buy it."

CAN there be trouble? Yes. WILL there be trouble? Perhaps, no, perhaps yes.

Good luck.

Be interesting to have some statistics here. Let's face it, they bu99er up a fair proportion of more conventional applications as well, causing unwarranted stress and turmoil. Wonder how much you increase your chances of major problems by being -- shall we say -- less conventional. Can't believe it even hits a single digit, percentage wise, myself.

I wish I knew where I read it. I just searched but that being three years ago who knows where I read it. I do remember the article/ website tempering the number with saying the majority of people adjusting were from Mexico so the numbers seemed out of line.
