Default Marridge on a vwp

Hello everyone, Im new and have had a look at posts about getting married on a vwp but cant find anything under my story so sorry for any repeated questions.

1, Has anyone on here got married on a VWP or been denied?

2, Whats the fee to get married under the visa waiver?

Ok so here is my story. I met a girl...Amy in January in my hometown in a club, was a one night stand lol but she went home the next day and I added her on facebook because I fell for her! We kept in contact all the way up until May by going on skype everyday for like 2 hours and so on just talking and our relationship grew, she came to visit me in May for two weeks and I have never felt love before I honestly thought love was a word until I met her and she says the same. I then said how about if I come to see you for a month end of june? I did so and we then turnt official, I then came back home but was sooo upset and she was too because a long distant relationshp lets face it never works! She is a student age 21 and I am 20 we may be too young to be in love or fall for each other but if anyone would like to argue about that be my guest because we love each other so much and we have been through a lot together in such a small period of time. So I went back after 2 weeks because skyping again and being online to each other was too teary and I couldnt live without her, My plan was to be here for a further month and have the best time together and make it last!! However, I got ill one night and had an astma attack to the point where I thought I was going to die, the ambulance had to come for me and I was on the hospitol bed. Amy (my gf) was in tears and held my hand and said 'I dont want anything to ever happen to you I love you so much...will you marry me' Lol proberly not the best time to say this but she proposed to me and she meant it!!! Im on a vwp How do I go about getting married on the VWP? Im so sorry to bring this up as it is proberly anoying for you lot hearing this all the time lol However, I would like to know. Sorry for the soppy story but I had to let you lot know about the love situation...I understand you can get a fiance visa but honestly we cant be with out each other for 6-8 months or whatever...please can someone help us and you can come to the wedding lol

The best thing to do is have a consultation with an immigration attorney, so you can understand clearly what will happen if your AOS is denied.

How far into your current 90-day VWP stay are you? Have you overstayed?

Are you maintaining that you are in the US right now?

Have you seen the bill for your hospital/ambulance adventure yet?

Does your gf earn in excess of $20K/year?

Why do you want to do this illegally vs legally, just because the wait is too long?

Of course not; there's no law against getting married (unless you're the same gender). There are rules about who can immigrate, and love has very little to do with it.

You are definitely in the US right now?

Have a consultation with an immigration attorney before you get married. Let him explain the pitfalls of doing this, what could happen if your AOS is denied, and how to overcome the Affidavit of Support issue.

ok come down from lal la land
forget all the love bit .. nobody including immigration wants to hear that

if you get married while here on the VW ... then you should go home and get the proper spousal visa

if you dont and you continue to overstay then you can still file to adjust status... and you may be lucky .. or you may be sent home for good ....
especially as she does not earn enough for the affidavit of support
time to re-evaluate if its your time ...

The moral of this story is do it all by the book ...to suceed

AOS = Adjustment of Status.

Yes, there have been many people in your situation, just have a read around the forum.

Start with this link: www.ailalawyer.com, today, to book a consultation with an immigration attorney.

1. Yes, and probably no. To get married all you have to do is go the the local town clerk's office, apply for a marriage license, wait the applicable number of days (each state is different), arrange for an authorized person to perform the ceremony, and get married.

2. Fees depend on the town or state (for the license), the person who will perform the ceremony (up to them), and the venue where the ceremony will be performed (up to them).

For neither item does it make the slightest difference how you happen to have entered the USA.

Somehow I have the feeling that you haven't asked what you really want to know about.

Regards, JEff

I agree with JEff. You are not asking us what you really want to know.
You posted this (again) in the middle of this conversation; please keep to the one thread here.

We know of many people who married in the US while visiting on the VWP.

You are not clear in what you are asking. What do you want to do?

You can get married, no law against it, but you will not be allowed to stay legally....they do not care about the love aspect they look at facts and elligibility, like the rest of us who are still waiting to start the process...
but good luck with your quest, but seek legal advice

Again, chance for what? Presumably you mean to stay legally after marriage, not the marrige itself.

Speaking english or being english makes no difference at all.

There are many aspects that may make it easy or hard if at all granted a visa....it can be done, but you will need a damn good immigration lawyer seek their advice first before jumping in feet first
