Default Marriage while here with B1/2 visa?

My girlfriend from Colombia has a B1/2 multiple entry visa. Our
relationship began in '99. I've spent time with her in her country
and she has visited me here before as well.
She will be visiting me (U.S. citizen)again next May for two weeks and
then return to Colombia.
I'm planning on asking her to marry me next May when she visits, and
if she accepts, marry her while she is here.
While she is back in Colombia, I plan to petition for a K3 visa.
My question is, has anyone done something similar? Is this possible -
to get married while she's here on a B1 visa?

What you propose is 100% possible and legal. Marriage followed by departure
is an acceptable use of a B visa.

FWIW, my personal understanding is that if the border inspector learns of the plan, he might refuse entry even though it is perfectly legal. Someone on About.com's immi forum had to do some fancy talking not to get sent back on the next plane when carrying out an identical plan. Best to bring the usual "strong ties" documentation, I'd think.

As long as she does not intent to stay, yeah she can get married on a B2.. the trouble arises when you intent to stay, make sure she brings proof of returning such as letter from employee stating she is supposed to be back at a certain date, Bills.. ect..
Good Luck!!
