Marriage visa London embassy
Hey
So two questions for those of you who have experience with the above -
1) Am I correct to assume that I should schedule the medical at least 6 working days before the interview, and expect my passport within seven working days after the interview (I am selecting the free courier service back to a local depot)?
2) My UK birth certificate is the long-form, full version however my fathers details are not included, only my mothers. Can I assume this will be fine?
Thanks so much in advance!

1. In general, yes. Don't be upset if it doesn't go to plan, though. Don't book any tickets until you habe the visa in hand.
2. I don't know. I thought both parent's information wad on the long form. You'll have to wait and see what the interviewing officer says.

Knightsbridge are very busy at the moment, I could only get a medical 4 working days before my interview, so it was no surprise when I got to interview that my medical results were not there. It wasn't a problem I was approved pending medical results.
My interview was May 16th and I anticipate my passport will be back with me in early June.

I had interview on a Thursday, got it on the Monday of the following week - so 7 working days exactly. I would NOT want to rely on it being at most 7 working days, certainly no one promises that.

Thanks for the responses guys. I’ve never met my father and all I know is that my mum was very young when I was born (16/17), unmarried and my father wasn’t present for my birth. If I’m upfront with the consul and tell them this, is my birth certificate going to pose an issue with my fathers details missing, even though I mentioned his name on the visa application?

I can't see it being a problem, your birth certificate is just a certified copy of the entry in the official register when your birth was registered, so if your fathers details were not entered in the register then they won't be on the long form certificate. I am sure NVC have seen this on numerous occasions.

Thanks so much guys, you are an awesome bunch of people!
May I ask one further question - regarding proof of relationship etc, I intend on bringing A4 print-outs (although black and white) of about 20 or so pictures of us together and another 20 or so pages of facebook message transcripts, as that's the way we communicate. Would this suffice do you think?
