marriage fraud
My mother is 74 and has married a 40 year old Canadian (whom she met
on the internet) for the purpose of obtaining his US citizenship. It
is my understanding that they must "co-mingle" everything for the next
two years. She has many assets and he has none. Would this fall into
the category of "marriage fraud"?

Most definitely. Do you think that the INS will believe it even for a moment?
They look at things like age difference you know...she can get in hot water too

Yes - also would come under heading of "total stupidity" on her part

Yuri
I am surprised the the Consulate will not issue a visa to your wife (assuming
that's the case).
Indians on H1 get married by looking at a picture (sorry folks
I have seen it). COnsulate seems to be OK in Chenai issuing
them visas even without an interview.
