Marriage certificate
#1
Hi all,
Getting married April 2nd (Saturday) in England (I'm on H1), and my wife-to-be has her H4 appointment at the US Consulate in London on the 4th (Monday). I just had a last minute doubt.. will the marriage certificate be ready on time? Do they issue it on the day of the wedding itself? If not, how long does it take to get it and can anything else be substituted for a marriage cert?
I should also add that we are having a civil ceremony.
I hope some of you can shed a light this.

If you're getting married at the registry office, they'll give you the
marriage certificate that day. If it's in a church or anywhere else, it
depends on whether the place the wedding is happening is authorized to issue
marriage certificates or not. Didn't they tell you when you picked up your
marriage licence?
