man in texas, wants to marry women in cali colombia, where do i start?
My last wife abandoned ship 8 years ago, I think she went back to
Mexico, but can't prove it.
Met a lady in Cali, Colombia and visited her and we want to get
married some day. She has a 7 Y/O daughter that will join her here.
So besides my devoice, which I'm working on now, just received my
do-it-your-self papers, how do I get started after the divorce to get
her here?

Two major options...Marry her there and file K-3 possibly a little faster and money goes much farther there. Or file for the K-1 visa. Visit http://usembassy.state.gov/colombia/...they have the proceedures there. One caveat...she will need permission from the father of the child in order for the child to leave Colombia.
There are a hundred other questions you need to check out also...get busy and do your homework.
Do a google for Gary Bala. He is an immigrations attorney that deals with Colombia a lot. I would suggest that you at least consult with him.

I have concern for people that want to do this without an attorney and
don't know the first place to look for information.
Oh well... The first questioning needing answered is whether you plan to
get married in the US or elsewhere. The websites for the embassy in
Columbia and uscis.gov have information.
