Hello I'm a UK citizen posting on behalf of my fiancee, stephanie, US Citizen....
we're basically just looking for some advice from anyone that has had some experience
with moving over to the UK from the US on a fiance visa... She has tried to come over
here, before we were engaged, on a visitor visa once before with a return ticket for
6 months, but she was refused due to insufficient funds (im a p/time student and was
unemployed at the time). Now i am employed earning enough to support us both and we
have recently got engaged, we've met two times before and have enough proof (irc/ic
logs, emails, phone bills etc etc) that we talk to each other every day and night and
love each other very much and intend to stay together forever. What we need to know
is what to include when she sends the entry clearance/settlement forms to the
embassy. From what we can gather from reading websites we should have: Her passport,
2 passport size photgraphs, the 3 forms (IM2A, IM2B and
IM2E), funds for the visa, letter from her stating her intentions. and from me, proof
of income, proof of suitable accomadation (lease agreement with my name/tenants
name), letter from registrar office proving i have made enquiries of the
intention of marrying stephanie, photocopy of my passport and b/certificate,
letter from me stating my intentions to marry stephanie and my love for her
(this will all be faxed) Will this be sufficient to obtain the visa? is it ok
that the letter i write will be faxed over? ie a copy, will a photocopy of my
passport be enough? from reading the embassy website it doesnt say we need to
send all this, but from other sources of information on other sites i have read
it is best to send all this as well.... does anyone have any experience with a
similar sort of situation? Ive tried asking around here in england for advice
but have been told she has to speak to the embassy over there... all she gets
from the embassy is an answering machine, and the only person she ever did talk
to said they cant give advice on what to information to send, only what forms to
send. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as you can understand we want to
get this over with as quick as possible and be together again.

This group deals with US marriage based immigration not UK marriage based immigration. Have you spoken with the UK's immigration department? They are the ones that can tell you what you need to do to get Stephanie to the UK to live with you.

Hi my wife and i went though this and we could not beleave how easy it was it was 4
years ago now and its hard to remmber every thing but we sent all the forms with
photos of us together and with each other familyat the time i was living with my
mother and i was earning about £9000 a year and my wife has a daugther as long as you
send every thing that they ask and a little more if you can
i.e photos phone bills also if you do send any copys of offical doc's make sure they
are certified copy once she sent every thing incuding her passports it took 3 days
to come back funny thing she thougth they had sent them back because we had done
some thing wrong until she look in the passports and saw the visa stamps in them
they came over and a month latter we got married now we are trying to move to the
USA sorry if there is not much info in this but it should let you know it can be
done and is not as hard as you think it is i know we were shiting it alex
