London interview!!

Hi everyone
I went for my fiancee visa interview yesterday and.... !!!..... I am
now the proud owner of a nice K1 visa!! I am sooo excited!!
Here's how the day went...
First we all met outside the Drs office at 8am. From there you go in,
take a seat and are asked to place your medical questionnaire (sent to
you with the interview date), passport, one photo and your vaccination
history into a special envelope. This must then be taken to the front
desk. The order that the receptionist/nurse receives these is the
order in which you are seen so if you're pushed for time it may be
worth having these things ready. Men were seen before the women.
Then we were called individually to pay fees (£125) and sign our
photos and another form. Then you take some stairs down to wait for a
blood test.
First they take your blood... then you wait again... then they x-ray
you... then you wait again... then they give you a medical (consisting
of a quick press on your tummy, looking in eyes/ears/throat and a
'read this card' sight test so bring your glasses in to the Drs with
you!) then they hand you your xray and ask you to proceed 'quickly' to
the embassy.
Then more waiting.
In the embassy they take your mobile phone from you and send you to
wait in line again to hand in documents. Again it's first come first
served so if you're pushed for time you wanna get in there as fast as
you can. The documents they want are all the ones from the iv-15
form. Then you wait again for your interview. This consisted of a
few questions like 'how did you meet?' 'have you been to the US?' 'has
your fiance been to the uk?'. It takes literally minutes. The
officer then looked at my affidavit of support, shrugged and said
'eh.. you wont starve' and then told me to come back at 12.30 and as
long as my blood work was clear I'd have a visa!!
It was a completely painless day and the others I met were so nice
(nice to meet you Maggie!!).
I hope this quick run through helps someone out!! If anyone has any
questions about the interview please just ask
I know how nervous I
was about it!!
Take care

Many congrats, Rebecca!!
Sounds like the same interviewer I had. Was he middle aged and from New York?
I had the exact same line when he looked at my affidavit! Glad you had a positive experience, and lucky for us Brits, most people DO have an easy day.
All the best for your arrival to the US!

It was nice to meet you too. I am also the proud owner of a K3 visa! Hoping to travel to Chicago July 11th. I told the X Ray technician he was famous!! The nurse taking the blood really was pain free as was the whole morning's proceedings. Visa in my hand by 11.45am! Congratulations Rebecca and have a great wedding day.

All the info is back in the US with my fiancee but I think we got the
notice of action saying our application was received on March 1st and
were approved roughly 1 month later, early April some time. Then I
had the letter from the embassy in the UK early May, and maybe 10 days
after my family received a letter asking me to send my iv-15 (I had a
provisional file with the rest of the documents already). I had to
wait for my police cert so that slowed us down a little. The embassy
told me mis May that my interveiw was on June 3rd. I hope that helps
(and makes sense!!)

Great news Rebecca. I know how excited you must be feeling. We just got ours last week and I am still bubbling over with joy. Just two weeks away and he will be here. All the nervousness seemed to go away in a blink of an eye

Vermont ????
I'm going through Nebraska ...Yuck! The worst Service Centre for getting
approvals on the what should be a 3 month timescale is now a 6 month
timescale ....it sucks !!!!!
I just want to say The very best of Luck for your Future
I wish it was me !
But I know my time will come
Best wishes and thanks for replying

Hi carol im relatively new to this but my fiancé petitioned for my K1
processing through Nebraska as I'm in Scotland UK and he is Michigan .
I'm afraid to say that if your going through Nebraska then it may well be
150 to 180 day wait for an approval from them
I know the feeling but
hey this news group is great and all the people will help you get through
this stressful time.
I have met another lady going through it too she is ahead of me by a month
so we mail eachother and even have talked on the phone, she is from Ireland
and if I am lucky enough to get enough money together I would hope to meet
her in Dublin for a weekend
Feel free to mail me as I am always glad of the company and it's nice to
know others going through this process
Keep your chin up
