London embassy time-frames for K1 interview
Hi All,
I'm a Kiwi guy living in London and am going through the K1 visa
process to be with my US citizen fiance in Colorado.
Does anybody know the current timeframe between submitting K1 visa
application docs (DS156/DS156K/DS157/DS230/checklist) to the embassy
and them giving you an inteview?
My medical exam was 9 June, the application docs were received by the
embassy on 22 June. I've phoned the embassy and they said my
application was "documentation qualified" as at 3 July. They also said
it can take up to 12 weeks to get the interview scheduled. I was hoping
someone else out there was a few months ahead of me in the process and
could tell me how long it actually took them for this stage. I've got
to make a call soon as to whether I extend my contract at work, so I'm
trying to guess how long I need to be in London for. I was hoping to
head to the U.S. in late October, but I'm starting to think that might
be a bit optimistic.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Simon
