K3 Wait time?
#1
Hi,
I hope you don't mind me asking but I was looking for someone on this forum who is going through k3 process. I have a friend(USA) who married a guy in Turkey and now she is back here in USA. She seems to think she can travel back to Turkey in November and send application for K3 to INS and then get an interview in Turkey within three weeks. ?????? I only know about K1 fiance visa, and I just can't imagine it would all process that quickly? Any info on that? What is normal timeline for k-3 to be approved for spouse living in foreign country?
Any info with be appreciated.
Thanks....

I did the K3 thing earlier this year through the London consulate and mine seems to be quite a fast turnaround compared to some with no RFE's (see timeline). Also things seem to have slowed down since then as I'm sure others will post about. Are you sure she will be doing a K3 and not direct consular filing? I'd be absolutely amazed if a K3 got done in 3 weeks especially going through Turkey.
Hope this helps.

Ahhh!! Direct consular filing? Do you have quick rundown of what is required. I mean, is it possible that she could travel back to Turkey in November and apply for visa for her husband and get it approved within the month? Still sounds too quick. (Do they still do back ground(police report) checks for this kind of direct consular filing? I'm just worried she's headed for a fall. I think she's only known him for a month or two and this last trip was her second visit to see him.
Thanks...

Sorry, I don't know much about DCF but I'm sure there are people here that do and would be able to explain it to you.
