K3 Visa Ans Study
Hi,
My Name is Bhavesh Shah and I am a recent paticipent in the K-3 Visa
process. I have been reading all the posts here with a great interest and
have been able to learn and understand the k-3 process.
Let me explain my situation. I am a US citizen and I recently marriad to an
beautiful Indian lady (in december). I have already filled I-130 and I-29F
for my wife and now just waiting for the 2 NOA for my I-29F.
Now, I have few questions if anyone can answer it.
1. I have seen posts on this site for getting a work permit from INS but I
want to know What is the Process (if any) for a K-3 visa holder if she wants
to attend college here?
2. I would like to know bit more about the Provisional file that I have
read on this site. What is it?
Any information will be appriciated....
Thank you,
Bhavesh Shah

Bhavesh,
You have a long way to go... Let her get the K3 first...Then start thinking about the rest. Regarding the provisional file, You cannot open a provisional file, if your wife is dealing with, Bombay, Delhi, Calcuatta or Madras Consulate...
Let me walk you through the steps;
1. MSC petition filed
2. Approval approx 3.5 months
3. File goes to NVC
4. NVC sends it to Consulate
5. Consulate sends the packet 3
6. Interview date & then Visa
After she gets her SSN she is okay to attend a college...
Dude after she gets here....you will be Honeymooning for a while...she ain't gonna worry about going to school right away...Rest I don't know man.
Good Luck
Adi

Once she's in the country on the VISA she has "entered" and has
"status". She may attend school or whatever she chooses. Apply to
the school of your choice. Hint: You may confuse the lower levels of
employees at the school who are looking for a 'Student Visa'. Call
the school.
going to school is a GREAT idea.
