K3 in Vancouver
Hi All,
For those of you who have applied for K3 in Vancouver, would you please share with me whether it's possible to start preparing for the medical checkup and police clearance document before packet 3 arrives?
My wife and I have been living apart long enough by now. We just want to get all documents ready beforehand to minimize additional delay.
Is there any form from packet 3 that we must use to proceed?
By browsing this forum, it seems to us in the Vancouver area, we have to visit Dr. Ian Morgan at Working Medical Services to obtain the medical checkup. I don't know if any special form will be required there. Does I-693 applicable in this case?
How about police clearance? Can we just go to any RCMP stations to ask for one? Any special form required?
Thank you all!
Alex

Hi Alex
My son and I went thru Vancouver May of 2002. We weren't approved at the time of our medicals, however, the medical is good for one year. So if you *think* you're near approval, go ahead and book your appointment with the Dr. Morgan. The Dr.'s office has all the forms that will be needed, no need to take any with you. You will need 3 audit pics tho, take those with you.
As for the criminal background check, head in there too. Need pic ID and $25. I think it's good for 6mths to a year as well. Don't have the fingerprints done, they're not needed and take awhile to go thru Ottawa and come back. They also have the forms there that you'll need.
Not sure if it's the same now as it was back then, but we weren't required to have an interview at the US Consulate, just mailed everything in and they sent it back.
Good luck on your visa.

Thank you for your valuable info!
I assume when you say "As for the criminal background check, head in there too", you meant ANY RCMP station? Or has Dr. Morgan branched out so much that he's doing the background check too? Thank you again.

Hi again Alex
Any RCMP station should work, however in Victoria, BC they would only do the background check in the community I lived within.
An added note on the medical: I didn't have proof of all my vaccinations as my hometown discards the records once you're 21. I went to my Dr. and had blood work taken and was able to prove I had all my vaccinations up to date.

Thank you again! Sorry to bug you.
Is vaccination required for K3 in Vancouver or AOS in the States?
My wife doesn't have her records anymore either.
Assuming it's required for K3, would you recommend her to see her own physician first to have the blood work taken and then take that result to Dr. Morgan's appointment or alternatively have Dr. Morgan do it all if it's a one-stop shop? Thank you.
Best Regards,
Alex

No. From what I gather, USCIS wants you to have the entire
medical exam done by their "approved" doctor. My wife and I just went
through all this last July, and while she got vaccinations done in her
home town (she had them done as a child, but the town didn't keep
records, and her little card got lost, so we had them done again),
everything else had to be done by Morgan in Vancouver. You have to
have the vaccinations before coming into the States, and keep the
record for the AOS (and do that ASAP), but more than likely, if you
get more than that done elsewhere, you'll have to have it done again
anyway by Morgan.

My wife had her K3 interview in Vancouver last August, and it
was required as well. There must have been a time when it wasn't
necessary, but it has been now for some time.

Hi All,
My wife is getting ready to visit Dr. Morgan to get her medical done even tho we haven't received our 2nd NoA. Dr. Morgan's office told her that they need her case no. when she goes in. Originally I thought this is her case no. from MSC on her 1st NoA. However, I just now read a posting on this board that after the 2nd NoA, the NVC would assign a case no. See http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...73#post1106973
That almost seems to me the MSC no. from the 1st NoA is useless. Can anyone share which no. they used for the Dr. Morgan office visit? Thank you.
Rgds,
Alex
