Hi, I have just arrived in the US, i immediately applied for my EAD, by filing the for i-765, I received an NOA from Chicago and arranged an appointment for fingerprints, I will now have to wait up to 90 days before I can get my EAD and an SSN.
I can drive on my UK driving license but only for 60 days and thats with someone else insuring the vehicle for all drivers. I cannot get a US Driving license until I have an SSN..........so I won't be able to drive at all after 3 April........the waiting goes on.........
Re the AOS, I was told by the US Embassy in London not to apply for AOS until approval was received for the I-130 when my husband would be notified. So I am a little confused as to what to do.......does anyone have any idea? I feel it would be better to apply now as the Medical I had in London is valid for 1 year. If I left it too long then this would be invalid and I would have to pay for another. I may wait until I have the EAD and SSN and then apply.
