Default K3 plane ticket question

Hi. Since the K3 visa is a nonimmigrant visa, would my wife have to purchase a
round trip ticket (from the Philippines) when she leaves for the USA? Many
thanks

My husband just entered on a K-3 with a one-way ticket with no problems.

Hi there,

Even though it is a non-immigrant visa, the understood intent is that she'll be there as an immigrant after the adjustment of status and everything else. If she uses a round trip ticket, at most it could raise questions; however they probably won't even check. A one-way ticket is the better choice.

Christian,
Be sure to check round trip fares because you may get a round trip ticket
cheaper. This was discussed on depth several days back - search the threads
to find the discussion.

Why would they require a round trip ticket?
Are you referring to INS or the airline.
If it was the airline, it was probably due to some confusion about what
the visa was for.
