K1 Success London

Just got back from the US embassy in London, where they gave me the K1, so i'm doing
some 'whoopin' and 'hollerin' and so on.
Anyway the day went something like this......
0750: Walk up to the good doctor phelans, find a queue of about 10 people, but really
only two families plus two singles.
751: Admitted to the surgery. Hand in passport and medical checklist.
752: Have painless blood test.
753: have chest x-ray and 'medical exam', which was the most cursory exam i ever
had, decide to get mmr and Td jabs there and then (£55 in total).
754:30 out of the doctors. They seem to do families first and then see you in
alphabetical order as far as I could make out. So if your by yourself with a
surname beginning with 'H' or 'Z' then you have a bit of a wait I'm afraid. The
medical cost £85, cash or credit card only. My advice, Bring a book.
755: Enter US Embassy. Go in the door in Upper Grosvenor Street. Ignore the queue
outside, this is for non-immigrant visas. Hand in Appointment letter.
756: Hand in passport, Affadavit of support, police certs, birth cert. Sign OF156.
757: See consul and raise right hand, tells me the 90 day rule and so on.
Doesn't ask a single question about me, or fiance or relationship, a nice
friendly old guy.
758: Pick up visa after being called, with a big brown envelope.
There seemed to be no particular order in which they called people up in the embassy,
quite close to the order in which they got in there though......
Well, that's the Hors D'ouevre over and done with I suppose, time for the main
course. So to all who've answered any questions of mine thus far, I want to thank
you. a lot. Your websites are pure gold, you know that.
A very happy Paul (who is going to go into work tomorrow and resign hahahahaha)
some 'whoopin' and 'hollerin' and so on.

How long ago did you start all this with your fiancee filing papers in America? Just

I129F was filed with Vermont on 4th January, would have had an interview sooner,
but I had to get a police certificate from Egypt, which proved to be quite a bit
of grief...
So by the time I'm on the plane, the whole thing'll be just under 6 months.....

Wow, yey. :)
Great to hear about your success. I'm off to London tomorrow to stay with miss kate as we're both off to the Embassy on Wednesday. So it's reassuring to hear how smoothly your day went. I'm all surprised that they didn't ask you a lot of questions...my bloke has been testing me on his family history and such
Quick question...was the MMR £30? I'm counting my money. Also good to hear that the Dr would take a credit card for the medical. I should have cash but being a student I'm running a bit low.
Have a safe trip to the US ~ Jennie

Congratulations Paul!
And good luck to Kate and Jennie! I can't wait to hear your experiences tomorrow, at the London Embassy.
My fiance is waiting for the letter giving his interview date in London. Well, actually we are also waiting for CSC to send the cable of approval to London.
Our timeline:
Feb 21, 2001 - Mailed petition to CSC
Mar. 9, 2001 - 1st NOA
Apr. 17, 2001 - mailed checklist to London.
May 3, 2001 - 2nd NOA (approval)
May 11, 2001 - phoned embassy, they are still waiting for Cable of approval from CSC.
