K1 and reception
I am USC and my fiancee is from Asia. I plan to travel to her city when her
K1 visa approve then have the reception for engagement and wedding together.
As you know, in Asia, we can't just leave without doing the ceremony for the
girl family. The reception is NOT legal binding and non-religious. My
question is, does the reception accordance with K1 visa? Does K1 spells out
no wedding ceremony before entering US?
TIA.

Re: K1 and reception
if you are applyingfor K1 visa you must be married to USA
because if you get married in the Philippines
you must NOT apply for K1.
DIfferent application if you married in USA
& if you married in Philippines
plus if you married in Philippines
its longer process for you to get your wife/ fiance.
Fiance visa is faster as what I was told & read in the forum.
Visiting her will help a lot as proof of your relationship
I am on K1 too waiting for my interview date as I have done my medical
already.
i hope this info help.
