Hi folks, thought I'd run all this by you
I have my K1 interview next week, I'm just looking for some reassurance that I'm all set to go!
I have:
- My birth certificate
- My passport
- I-134 with bank statements, letter from fiancée's employer and tax returns '07, '08 and '09.
- Police certificate
- Photographs they now want 3 of and not 2 (did I miss that?) and I'll have to get those on the day at the pharmacy (I've only 2 left).
I'll make sure I have at least one additional photocopy of all of the above.
I don't need adoption certificate, marriage certificate, Termination of Prior Marriages, Military Records, Court or Prison records nor any translations.
I also have:
- Original application documents and evidence
- RFE documents and evidence
- Updated letter of intent, I need to write one of these too
- I'll also take some evidence she was here recently and a dated photo from our engagement party + an invitation and a couple of cards maybe just in case?
- Copy of my recent bank statement and savings pass book as further evidence that I won't become a public charge
This extra stuff is all fluff so far as I can see, interview reports I've been reading didn't ask for anything other than what they have in the http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html
Am I missing anything else?
Thanks all, getting really tense about this but trying not to let it drive me crazy! It's all so close to coming together now

You have the same documents as me and mine is the week after so I guess we either both ok or both wrong but from what I read and understand you have all you need
And best of luck with the interview I'm sure you will be fine.

Success! I am approved
The process is quite straight forward, expect to be waiting those entire three hours and the process is much like you'd expect as everyone has detailed it here!
Good luck to those of you going soon!

Hi Guys
I'm in the same boat as you are, interview on 13/9/10 - yeehar. However, I only have her last years tax return for 2009. Do I need three years of tax returns?
Any quick response would be very much appreciated

For a K-1 interview in London that's fine, I believe you'll need more than that for the AOS interview, but I haven't got that far myself yet and have only skimmed through the requirements. You can cehck out what you need with regards to proof of support in the I-134 advice document available here.
Good luck
Edited because his board uses a strange variant of standard BBcode tags for links :-/

I have 3 years worth and as far as I'm concerned and can work out from post on here the more the merrier last thing u want is for them to ask for further evidence so if you can get hold of them then I would only my opinion though

Thanks guys I really appreciate your help and clarification. That link you supplied clearly states 'If self-employed, I only need her last tax return'.
Now I know I'm being a real pain but can you clarify the actual documents you need. I've read the embassy web site several times over and I've got the forms they've listed i.e. Birth Certificates, Military/Police Records etc but it also states:
If your application was processed by the National Visa Center and you sent them your documents, the documents will have been forwarded to the Immigrant Visa Unit together with your application. All that you will be required to furnish on the day of the interview is your passport and three color photographs. However, please review the Document Checklist before attending the interview. If any of the documents were not sent to the National Visa Center, you will be required to obtain them and present them on the day of the interview.
So do I need to take everything or what I'm totally confused

I've not seen that bit before but I imagine you didn't send the police checks and stuff to the NVC? Either way, it says elsewhere the the officer can ask to see the original of any relevant document. Most people don't seem to have half of the things they take looked at from what I've seen here but the more you have the less likely you are to hit a snag if they decide they want to check something.

K visa applicants will take all their evidence to the interview and send nothing to the NVC.
