K1 Fiance Visa ...Please Help
Its like trying to get blood out of a stone, getting info from the US
Consular in London.
After spending 2 weeks trying to work out how to fill the forms out I
think I'm just about there, but...I have a few questions I hope sombody
will be able to help me with, because the US Consular in London just
keep reffering me to the website...and I just cant find the info I want
or its just not clear and full of inconsistancies!!!
Heres my questions I origionally sent to the US Consular in London.
1) What vaccinations do I need to meet the 'Fiance Visa' requirements?
----------------------------------
2) What Evidence will I require as proof of vaccination? Will
vaccination details on letter headed_ paper / stamp, signed by GP
be suffice?
----------------------------------
3) On Form IV-15 there appears to be contradicting information regarding
the signing of Forms 156 and 156K.
Form IV-15 States that DS-156 is not to be signed, however it does not
state this on Form DS-156.
On Looking at Form DS-156K it would appear that a signature is
not required
(i.e. do not write below this line) However on Form IV-15 there is on
confirmation of this.
Do I NOT need to sign both Forms DS-156 & 156K or do I just need to sign
Form DS-156?
----------------------------------
4) On reading the Form IV-15 it would appear that I require in my
possession 'Evidence of Support' Form I-134. On completion of the
form by the sponsor do I require the original?
Therefore would I be correct in saying that the 'Evidence of Support
Form I-134' should be sent directly from 'The Petitioner' to me 'The
Applicant'?
----------------------------------
5) Once I have filled out Form DS-230 Part I, DS-156, DS-156K and Form
IV-15 can I submit these to the Immigrant Visa Branch, even though
the INS hasn't yet approved the petition?
----------------------------------
6) On Form IV-15 should I quote the 'Case Number' as provided to my
Fiancee in the U.S. supplied by the INS or will I be provided
with a new 'Case Number' when the petition is approved by the INS
in the U.S.?
Or should I leave this blank?
Just out of interest has anybody recently been issued with a fiance(e)
visa..i'm just wanting to know how long the process took??
Can anyone reccomend any really good, up to date and informative
websites on this process?
I really hope somebody can help me
Thanks

Hi wr-uae
I would say start here for most of your answers
http://www.k1faq.com
as for the vaccinations, I printed off the vaccine chart from
http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web...iv/vaccine.htm
which I took to my gp who gave me the jabs I needed, they can either print off a list on headed paper, or give you a international travel vaccination record. Which I have and had no problems with using that at my medical.
hope this helps answer some of your question kit

Re: K1 Fiance Visa ...Please Help
I've found the US Consular website quite clear and helpful and the team there helpful in clarifying things I ask by e-mail, but here's the answers to your questions :
These are the vaccinations you need : http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web...iv/vaccine.htm - actual medical names are : http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web...ccinechart.htm
I'm going to get a letter from my GP (signed and stamped) on headed paper and a list of the vaccinations I have - I noticed in my GP something called a vaccination certificate that you have to pay for - that might be better but I'm not sure.
Don't sign either of them now - you sign them at the embassy when you attend your interview.
Yes, get your fiancée complete this form, have it notarized in the US, and sent to you
Yes, Send the forms with a cover letter, say your fiancé(e) is petitioning for a K-1, and ask them to open a provisional file for you. A few weeks after you send it, contact the embassy again and ask them for the provisional case number.
Can't remember what I did off the top off my head - I think I left it blank...
No, not yet approved - length of time depends on which service center you are going through

Browse this forum, you will find all of the answers to other questions you may have.
Hope that helps. thing2

Re: K1 Fiance Visa ...Please Help
Hi Wayne,
I'm no expert but I've been through the K1 mill in London so here goes
:-
>1) What vaccinations do I need to meet the 'Fiance Visa' requirements?
There is a chart on the US Embassy web site at :-
http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web...ccinechart.htm
>----------------------------------
>2) What Evidence will I require as proof of vaccination? Will
> vaccination details on letter headed_ paper / stamp, signed by GP

Can't help you there, I only needed one jab according to the chart so
I just paid to have it at the medical

I didn't sign either of them before I submitted them to the embassy

Yes again

submitted mine after Cathy received our approval notice.

Keep in mind that depending on your age and experiences, you may not need all vaccines that the chart seems to indicate you might.
We were strongly recommended to wait until the doctor's appointment to get any vaccines that we 'thought' we needed.
Based on his age and previous Navy stint, my DAH was only required to get a tetnus booster instead of the 3 others we thought he lacked.
