k1 documents..Just photocopies or certified photocopies???
I have a question about some of the documents required by the Service
Centers here in US.
When they ask for the US citizen's birth certificate and\or Passports and\or
Divorce Decrees:
- Are certified copies necesary or regular photocopies will be enough?
- Does anyone have an idea of how much will an Attorney Certified Copy (of a
one page Certificate of Naturalization for example) will cost?
- Is the Attorney Certified Copy the only valid Certified Copy or can you
get those done by someone else?
And how about the copies from the NON-US fiancee? Can those documents (like
birth certificate) be only regular photocopies or do they have to be
certified by the US Embassy in the fiance's country?
Thanks again for your help
Chris

Re: k1 documents..Just photocopies or certified photocopies???
hi, C&G.
I was the non-us fiancee, so i would answer your questions from my side.
I made the certified copy of my:
1. police certificate
2. birth certificate
The documents were certified by the office that issued the documents, not by the US embassy in my country. so, the police certificate were certified by local police office, the birth certificate were certified by civil registration office. It would be better if you make few copies of each, just in case you'd need more than one.
I hope this helps, good luck on your case.
