Hi All,
Wanted to share with you that my K1 application was approved at the London Embassy this morning! I arrived at 7am for my 8am appointment, got number 902 (2nd place in the queue for immigration visas) and was out by 9am. The consular officer was very friendly, we just had a short chat about my relationship and then she smiled and informed me she was happy to approve my application.
I didn't need half of my paperwork in the end, nor did they ask for any copies of anything, also they just took one passport photo, scanned it and gave it back. I had previously been denied entry before, but all she said was "I see you were denied entry in Detroit" and then carried on the discussion, didn't even ask me what happened.
A big thank you to everyone who has helped me on the way, whether directly by answering my questions or by posting helpful info. A special thanks to Ian, Rene and Pulaski.
Looking forward to a couple of paperwork free months before starting the AOS.
Dan

Thanks everyone! I'm assuming I should take CEAC status with a pinch of salt?
It is now showing as 'Ready' and with a case creation date two days after my interview, whereas it was actually created in July
Case Creation Date: 28-Oct-2015
Status Updated Date: 28-Oct-2015

Hi guys. I went for my K1 visa interview a week ago. The interview went just fine, I was asked just 3-4 questions on how and when we met and which other countries have I traveled to. In the end, the consular officer kept my passport and said the courier service will contact me within a month's time.
I came back and checked the status of my application on CEAC website. It has gone from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing". I have started to get worried now because I have not heard good things about AP. Any idea how long will it take for them to give me the visa? Is AP something to be worried about?
Scotty, you might want to share your experience? I see your case status was changed to AP too after your interview. How long after that did you receive your passport with the visa stamped?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Btw, I forgot to mention that I was given a white paper with my case # and interview date filled in and the following option checked:
Section 221(g): Your case requires additional administrative processing. We recommend you contact us every two months to check on the status of your case.
Any idea what does this mean? We have really started to get worried now. The interview went smooth and the CO said he has all the necessary documents and that the courier service will contact me in a month. Not sure what is going on :S

It means your case has been put into administrative processing. Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. You can't find out why you're in AP, you can't find out where you are in the process, and you can't find out how much longer it's going to take. All you can do is wait.
... and there's no way to find out either! Most cases put into AP get cleared within a few weeks, others within a few months... and, rarely, some drag on for years. At this point in time, there's no reason to believe your case will take longer than a few weeks.
If you need to travel, you can request your passport back... otherwise, there's nothing you can do but wait.

Thanks for your response Ian. I was wondering if it is normal for them to put cases in AP after the interview? It concerns me because the interview went fine and I was not expecting to be put into AP. The CO mentioned I will be contacted by the courier service in around a month's time. I hope this is not going to end into the AP black hole that most people are talking about here on the internet.
Lord, please help me
