I'm planning on mailing off my I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancee
tomorrow to the Vermont Service Centre. My fiancee, who lives in
Calcutta (Kolkata), India, will be applying for a K-1 visa through the
consulate in Bombay (Mumbai). Does anyone have any advice or notes?
I'm especially interested in how long this process is taking these
days.
Thanks, all.

I applied at CSC.. VSC is fastest, so that's the good news for you.
NOA 1 - OCT 24 (Receipt of I-129)
NOA 2 - DEC 13 (Approval)
MUMBAI CONFIRMED RECEIPT OF VISA PACKAGE BY PHONE: JAN 6
Do not wait for it to arrive to your fiancee in the mail..Takes longer
DROPPED OF PACKAGE 3 (PRINTED OFF THE INTERNET IN MUMBAI) - JAN 7
They promised my fiancee an interview in March middle when she dropped
off the Packet 3 on Jan 7.
CAUTION: If she lives in Kolkata, she should apply to Kolkata
consulate UNLESS she is a resident of Mumbai.
Good luck !!!

Thank you for the info!

What? I put "Mumbai" on the I-129F. I checked the Kolkata
consulate Web site and it says that they don't process K-1s, and the
Mumbai consulate Web site says that it covers West Bengal. Are you
sure? If so, I'm going to have to see how I can change that.

Hello Apurbva,
You were correct in listing Mumbai as the Consulate. Kolkota has not processsed K-1's for quite some time.
Relax you had it right.
Best wishes,
