Will I be deported? pls tell me what can happen!
I have a question about what my status in the US will be after a
divorce. I have been married to a US citizen for almost 2 years but recently got separated from my wife. It looks like a divorce will go through in the next few month. We had our interview with the INS in winter 2001 and i received a plastic green card a few month later. The plastic card is valid i think for 2 years and then we go for another interview. Prior to the green card I got two EADs. Then around the time the second EAD expired I filed some additional paperwork, had the interview and finaly received a greencard in the mail.
Anyway...I wonder if I need to expect any trouble if I get divorced in the next few month? what are the implications and let me know the worst that can happen? how can i get the 2 year thing lifted? will i ever be able to get the permanent residency? she is threatening me with withdrawing her INS appeals and i guess she has written the INS to say that she is not interested in the union anymore. I do not know what to do at this point. I have been law-abiding and have all my work details etc

The more I read this newsgroup, the more evident it becomes that these
are the most important things to a Brit (in order of importance to them):
US Green Card
American wife
Pint of beer at a British Pub
British wife
Obligation or Service to any one country
Jolly good show, Brits!

Complete this form and mail it in immediately. Get all your paperwork
filled out and take it to the interview. If you are legitimate, you
should be just fine.

Weeeell,
We have to get away from EU Blair somehow. I love the place, but if it becomes just another bland Euro state, then what's the point....
PS You forgot Fish 'n chips

OK, it's probably true that most Brits marrying American are men but I'm standing up for the British women married to American men. I knew several in my own city in NC!
Also, you forgot a decent cup of tea!!
