IRS Printout or Copies of 3 yrs taxes?

IRS Printout or Copies of 3 yrs taxes?
This came up in another thread and now I'm curious. In packet 3, someone posted it was ok to use the free printout from the IRS for the last three years tax returns. But I thought it had to be the actual copies of tax returns, not just the printout. Since the copies cost $20 each, and the printout is free, it's a no-brainer which one I prefer to use.
Does anyone know? Or is every consulate different?

Bill's right on this, they will take either one, I don't know how else to say this...READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND DO WHAT THEY SAY - there is no substitute for following their rote instructions. Bill - I experienced some difficulty getting mail to my wife in Russia too - try sending three sets, three different ways - I got lucky and all three of them arrived - may never happen again - what country is your wife/fiancee from?

from what I have heard both are okay... I just today received transcripts from the IRS. I am wondering how to get them to my fiance, since they steal half of my mail that I send there.
maybe Fed Ex it I guess...

This only proves my theory that THE US POST OFFICE SUCKS!!!!!
My USC fiance sent me 4 letters/cards (at the same day) last year,
they never made it here. Two months ago he sent a card, that never got
here... amazing as my mail to him gets there in record time. Maybe the
best service my country (Brazil) has is the post office. Now in the
United States they couldn't care less about their mail.
Good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't receive mail from my
loved one
Sorry but I had to share this
Take care,
Simone

Amazing how you twisted it so that the culprit is the US Postal Service instead of the other country's postal service.
Have you stopped to analyze your situation at all? The US Postal Services delivers your mail to your USC fiancee but the Brazilian postal service does not deliver your mail from your USC fiancee to you. Would seem to me that the agency with the problem is in the other country. Perhaps the carriers in other countries think mail from the US must contain something of value.
Remember there are two postal services from two different countries involved in all these cases. Who is the person not receiving their mail? The USC or the foreign fiancee?

The BCIS specifically requested tax transcripts. The US Consulates have their own criteria. A transcript is clearly marked IRS at the top and is a line by line printout of your filed tax return. Include the W-2 if it makes you more comfortable and include your copy of the return if you have one.

I'm only saying this because Michael himself complained many times the
USPS lost his own stuff inside the US, and many boxes and cards he
tried to send me came back to him with wrong postage and forms... and
they don't take complaints.
Some federal employees here in Brazil are also rude, but the post
office here rarely loses anything, even if it's a tiny envelope.
When I lived there back in 2000 I also had problems with sending mail.
Guess that after Sept 11 things got worst.
It's not a simple letter or card coming from America that is valuable.
It's a matter of doing theirs job right.
