Default I'm confused

I was hoping that someone could clarify the process for me. I have spent hours
on the internet learning what I thought would be our process, but as i read the
postings on this news group I run into things I have never heard of. I am a US
citizen applying for a Fiancee Visa through the Nevada Service Center for my
Colombian fiancee. I sent my original packet off on Feb 16th of this year and
got a response on Feb 20th saying that it would take 150-180 days to process.

Is this time frame accurate? It seems that everywhere else I have read, it
only takes around 3 months to obtain this type of visa.
And I have always understood that "to process" means that they are looking into
the case to decide if she will be eligible for the visa, is this accurate?

OK, so that puts me between July 20th and August 20th. Once I get this notice
saying that she is eligible for a visa then I will tell her and she should be
able to go to the US Embassy in Colombia to pick up another packet (I have
heard that this is OK in Colombia due to a poor mailing system) that will
consist of forms that she will have to fill out. After that is done she will
take that to the Embassy and pick up a third packet consisting of forms and
instructions, such as how/where/when to get the doctor's examination. This
will be completed and held onto until we go for the interview. The interviews
in Colombia are supposedly held on a walk-in basis so we shouldn't have to wait
for an interview date. Once we have the interview, her passport should be
stamped within a day or two. I don't know how complicated and tedious the 2nd
and 3rd packets are, but I am hoping that they can be completed within a few
weeks at the very most, assuming no complications. That is to say, I dont see
any reason (other than unforseen complications) why we won't get the visa
within a few weeks after I get the notice saying that she is eligible for the
visa.

I am sorry to be so lengthy. My hope is that someone will read through this
and tell me whether or not I am more or less accurate on how I am expecting
this process to move along or at least point out any discrepancies. I would
really like to hear that the 150-180 days in not accurate and I probably should
be hearing something soon. Thank you for your time. Your help is greatly
appreciated.

Which Service Center? There is a Nebraska Service Center and there is the California Service Center (which processes applications for Nevada also).

My apologies, I meant to say that I sent my packet to the Nebraska Service
Center.

Considering the timeline, sounds like Nebraska.

My first NOA is Feb 18. We also expect a response back in that timeframe.

NSC has processed a handful of Jan 2 petitions, according to this NG, but hasn't budged much since. It's discouraging, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much progress there...
