Default I-864 joint sponsor question - urgent!!!

Would it be okay for the beneficiary or the petitioner of an Immigration Visa to prepare the Affidavit of Support I-864 for the joint sponsor or is there some kind of conflict of interest?

Meaning: Will Consulate accept the joint sponsor's Affidavit of Support to be filled out by the sponsored immigrant or the primary sponsor and signed by the joint sponsor?

Any ideas anyone?

My joint sponsor is having some problems in filling out the form. Since both my husband and I are here in Germany we are wondering if we could fill it out correctly, sign the preparer's statement, send it to the joint sponsor, have her sign it in front of a notary public and send back to us.
Is this going to work out?
Thanks for any help,

Denise&Matt

I assume someone who actually knows will answer, but:

I don't see why not. The joint sponsor has to swear that it is true &
accurate when it is notarized, and it seems to me that is the important
thing. If you're worried about it, you could always talk them through it on
the phone or fax them an example. I plan on reviewing forms with my wife
over the phone before she goes in for her interview in Tokyo. Thankfully
prepaid calling cards make it very cheap for me to call Japan these days

Part 8 of the form is a section to be filled out if anyone other then the sponsor has completed it.

Good luck
