I am a US citizen married to a Czech citizen. We are going to files all the AOS
papers tomorrow, and were wondering after filing the I-765 (work authorization.), how
long will it be before she will be able to work? Do they give her something temporary
that allows her to work, or does she have to wait?

Depending on the office it can be anywhere from same-day to 90 days or more. Which
office will you be filing at?

I'm sorry to hear that - 80 to 90 days for them to process the EAD.

Andy, Sorry but I have to disagree with you - "Rose" got her EAD only 4 days after we
filed AOS, and I think we would have even gotten it the same day if we had our K-2
daughter with us when we applied. We also got AP after only 2 weeks. The Tampa office
seems to move pretty fast on EADs and APs. Regards, "John"

I only report what the AILA report which is 80-90 days for EADs and 10-14 for AP.
Glad to hear yours were much quicker - it wouldn't be the first time that the AILA
report was very out of date.
Andy.
