I-751/RFE/VSC approval, also photos
First, the obvious, for timeline junkies:
10/20/2005 I-751 submitted to VSC
05/16/2006 RFE sent to VSC (RFE was received the day before, yes I was
fast)
06/26/2006 Approval received.
Second, I've noticed a few people getting confusing reports about the
photo style required for your I-551. Yes, the approval letter says
"...of the same type as on your present alien card...". I think it is
important to note that the approval letter also says
US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
US IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION
all over it, which is clearly out of date. The approval letter is
accompanied by an information notice that says
"There is some information provided in the body of the attached 'Notice
of Removal of Conditional Basis of Lawful permanent Residence' that
requires further clarification."
and it goes on to describe Infopass, and the new photo requirements,
being full-face. I know that the standard operating procedure when
dealing with USCIS is CYA, but I think the language is pretty clear, and
I will be attending my appointment with only one set of photos.
Thanks to everyone who has posted over the last 3.5 years that I've been
reading this group, it's all been informative, amusing, or both.
