Default I-751 Online Status

Hello
I have been told that original I-751 receipt number doesn't work when checking online status. I have been advised to use receipt number found in fingerprint notice. I can see my status online but anyone knows if this status is updated?
Seems strange to me that USCIS doesnt use real receipt number and instead uses fingerprint receipt number.
My filing date is nov 25th, 2011 in vermont. Status is still pending. Anyone received approvals recently from vermont?

The online updates are not highly reliable, so don't be surprised if it never gets updated.

Seven months for I-751 processing seems to be the average, but I would say 9 months would not be unheard of (as is your case).

The I-751 is one of the lowest priority applications, since your status as a PR doesn't change during processing. Sometimes they take a very long time... 7-12 months or more. This is normal.

anyone knows if they send RFE, would that be reflected in on line status? I saw in another site that Vermont has processed application dated nov 26th, mine is nov 25th. Still waiting to hear from them. Not sure if they mailed RFE. We are not home and will not be there for next two weeks.
Someone please advice if online status would have RFE info?

Maybe, maybe not. The online status isn't always reliable.

Is someone checking your mail while you're gone? They can let you know if you got an RFE in the mail. Even if not, you should have something like 80 days to respond to the RFE.

It should be, yes. But, as other posters have written, the online status is not always accurate. (the online status for my petition for my wife says "initial review", but she has long since immigrated and has been a US citizen for several years now)

Regards, JEff

I filled at Vermont on 1 November 2011, I got my 10 year greencard about 30 June 2012, on checking my online status it says they recieved my package, the website is not worth 'the paper its written on' as it were.

well, we are still away from home but managed to check our mail with the help of our neighbor. We received a letter from USCIS vermont saying that our I-751 was approved. We dont have the letter handy but we have the following questions.
1. I heard you will get 10 yrs card not any approval letter. People online forum claim they receive the card right away and dont get approval letter. Why did we get letter not the card?
2. Has anyone else from Vermont received letter first and card later. If so, how many days it would take to get the card after this approval letter?

We are happy the application is approved. Thanks everyone for all your advice and support.

Sometimes people get a letter... sometimes they don't. There's no hard and fast rule. Don't worry about it.

The card will come when it comes - don't worry about how long it takes. If someone tells you two weeks and it doesn't come in two weeks, you'll be forever fretting about it until it shows up. Further, someone else's timeline won't help you at all. It'll come when it comes.

My advice: relax and enjoy life.
