I-751 NSC 6 Months Delay

I just got a notice after filing I-751 that processing will take 6
months. It says that the green card will be extended for 1 year. Now,
how do I get this extension? Will a new green card be mailed to me? Do
I have to go to local INS office to get a stamp?
