Default I-751 and leaving and returning

I got my letter, my NOA for form I-751. It says my card has been extended
for another year, however my card runs out on Febuary 2003. I plan to go
visit my family in England. If before that I haven't had my interview, will
the NOA be good enough to take with me or do I have to go to the INS and ask
for another stamp on my passport. I would guess that it be in the computer
at the POE that my Green Card had been extended a year but I am not sure.

Secondly what will I expect at my interview, considering my wife and I are
divorced after 2.5 years. I don't think its going to be a major problem
but its not as easy process now that me and the girl i married and got a
visa through are no longer together.

I am engaged to someone else now, after my wife cheated on me and divorced
me, however should she come to the interview with me or not.

I just want to do everything right.

Thanks

The I-797 has extended your greencard until 2/04. That will, or should be, sufficient to travel to the UK for a holiday. Be sure to take the greencard and the I-797 with you when you travel. Be safe and make a copy of it and leave the copy at home in case you lose the original.

As for your removal of conditions, it is almost certain you will have an interview. Bring to the interview all the proof you have that you entered into the marriage in good faith. Hopefully you were astute enough to take all the INS paperwork you have filed in the past with you rather than leaving with in the possession of your ex-wife.

She does not have to go to the interview with you if you were to have one. I don't know if the reason for your divorce is a pivotal factor and unless it is stated on your divorce papers, I would not be offer any suggestions as to using that as a basis for removal of conditions. Perhaps one of the visiting attorneys to the board can tell you about that. Being 54, I can tell you that I know many couples who have remained married even with roving spouses. To each their own.
