Default I-130 processing time

I-130 was sent in April 2002 to the Texas center (I live in Florida) and got
the receipt back. Anyone have any idea what the new waiting time is
(post9/11). My wife is in Germany but we've received no additional info.

Thanks,
Bill

When did you apply. i.e.
which month of last year ?
TSC seems to be processing 5/14/2001
cases.
Most of the other service centers
are peocessing March 2002 or later
cases.Don't understand what
may be the reason ? Does TSC
handle order of magnitude more
cases that other service centers !!

My paperwork didn't go in until May 2002. From what you're telling me Texas
is over a year behind the others. What's up with that? Is there anything
that can be done? If their workload is that much more why isn't there more
help to at least even it out? It's so frustrating.

Around March 2002, the receipts used
to specify a wait time of 175-225 days.
Then it changed to 300 days. Now it is
500-600 days. Around March 2002,
TSC was processing 3/24/2001 cases.
Now they are handling 5/14/2001 cases.
Essentially in the past 7 or 8 months,
the processing date has moved less
that 2 months.
May be, if it is brought to the attenion of
AILA , they can bring it to the attention of TSC that all other service
centers
are handling around April/May 2002
cases while TSC is far behind. TSC is
very busy. If the situaion is brought
to their attention properly and respecfully,
they will do somehing to expedite the
processing. I am not sure how to contact
AILA with a request to pursue this.
If you know anyone ( any AILA attorney ),
try to talk. We hope some
immigraion attorney who visits this
newsgroup and reads this posting, will
be able to provide more suggesions and
input.

Hey Bill,

Have you done the K3 visa yet? I sent out an I-130 and then I sent for
the K3 which is supposed to get your spouse over here sooner, but lately it
is taking a few months more.

I read the K3 requirements. I'll get on that ASAP. I wonder why no one
mentioned it before. I had talked to INS here and in Germany along with
immmigration lawyers. We'll see what happens.

Thanks.

I filed the I130 on February of this year. I filed it for my parents,
and I am still waiting for 2nd NOA. I called TSC 4 times and every
time I called the waiting time is getting longer. I called the
congressman and they said there is nothing they can do. I did mention
the very slow processing times for TSC compared to the other
centers..They said there is nothing they could do.
Now the wait is 500-600 BUSINESS days, so it will take forever to
bring our loved ones here. So much for familiy reunification
concept...
And the witing times will double or triple when the 2002 amnesty will
kick in..

Oh yes, sorry to say, you will have to wait it out since it is your
parents.....mine on my hubby's I-130 states 500-600 days too but I am also
going after a K3 visa for spouses, so he can come here quicker....sorry it
does not apply to other relatives.
