Default I-130 processing in Sydney - Can we go to the USA for a month?

I sent in my notice of applicant readiness form and DS-230 Part 1 to
the US Embassy in Sydney this week. Hoping to hear back next week
with an interview date.
My with (USC) and I (Aussie) both live in Australia (she has for 18
months) and married a few months ago. However, we are having a second
ceremony in the US in late March. I requested an interview date for
early March in the hope that I can apply for a social security # when
I am in the US and conduct some job interviews.
My questions relate to whether I am able to enter the US if:
a)my application hasn't received approval in time; or
b)the interview date isn't until April when I return to Australia

Given we both live in Australia and obviously intend on moving back to
the US this year I didn't think any of this board's posts on Advance
Parole related to us.

We'd appreciate any advice/answers to these questions and any
instances which could effect us from being allowed entry to the US in
March for the wedding. It would be a disaster if I couldn't even
attend my own wedding.

Please note that in my cover letter to the embassy I mentioned the
dates we'd be in the US and asked for an interview outside of these.
I would hope that they would notify me of any problems with me going
to the US for the wedding if the application weren't approved in time.

Will keep you all updated
Regards
Rich

Would appreciate a response on this question. Anyone know what the deal is?

Rich, FWIW, I can't imagine why you would not be allowed to travel under either of those circumstances provided you carry proof of your intended return to Oz.

But please, don't take my word for it. Email the Consul help desk (find it on their website) and ask nicely. I'm sure they'll have advise for you.

If you haven't rc'd your visa before the March trip, I'm not sure about applying for a social security number.

Jo Brayne is an unknown quantity at this point
Default travelling with pending I-130

we are travelling with an I-130 pending. We are filing via London (see timeline) and are travelling to the US for 2 weeks end of march/beg. of April. We are taking the slim slim slim chance that they'll have his interview before we go!

The truth is they can turn anyone away they like. But given your and my circumstances, I cant see why a tourist visa - or VWP in my husband's case - woudn't work just fine.

Just go with something besides your return ticket showing you're going back to Oz, just to be safe.
