Exclamation I-130 and I-485

Hi. I'm applying for petition of I-130 and I-485 and sent out the application on June 20th. I've received the receipt after that. Yet I wasn't advised how long it takes to get the petitions. Please tell me when I can get the petitions coz I'm pretty rush of time.

It can take up to a year for the I-130 to be processed, and several years more before the I-485 is processed.

What the heck are you guys talking about??

Bougatba, if you've recieved the receipt for the I-130 and I-485, then you aren't waiting for a petition anymore. You are waiting for an AOS interview, and how long that takes depends on where you live in the USA.

Ian, are you pulling someone's leg? LOL

Hi:

OK, you've got the reciepts, so far so good -- case is on track.

By and by, you will get a biometrics appointment.

And then, depending upon the backlogs in your LOCAL DISTRICT, you will get an appointment for an interview.

The time between your lockbox filing and your appointment date is easy to figure out once you have the interview appointment notice. Before that, any computation will be speculation.

Well, Ian had the right idea except that this is a one-step case, so the
waiting time for adjudication of the I-130 will be the same as for the
I-485, won't it? (Or, to be technical, the waiting time for
adjudication of the I-130 will be no longer than an instant shorter than
the waiting time for adjudication of the I-485, since the I-130 must be
adjudicated first.)
