Default I-130 case transferred to MSC?

Hello all,

I had a quick look at my I-130 case status this morning, and it said the following:

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status:

On February 5, 2004, we transferred your I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to an office in MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER for processing. Our office in MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 to receive information about local office processing times.
Does anyone know what this means, if anything? Has any processing taken place or has anything actually happened, or is it just some paper-shuffling to reassign work?

Many thanks in advance.

- Mark

There was another post recently from someone whose petition was sent to MSC. Maybe they are finally trying to do something about the backlog at NCS and TSC...

Nope - we filed the I-130 before my K-3 was approved or processed. At the time it was definately Nebraska...

Filed on December 11th 2002. I'm wondering if MSC has requested it as they are processing our AOS and are pulling strings together. Ah, who knows!

Hi Mark,

The same thing happened to us, too. We had filed the I-130 with the Texas Service Center early in 2003 (processing time 900-999 days) and they now forwarded the case to MSC. We haven't heard from MSC yet however.
We had also filed AOS last year, that was my guess why maybe the transferal took place.

Maybe it is reason for hope..., maybe not... I guess we'll find out as soon as we get a note from MSC with an updated processing time.

130 goes to the Service Center of your resident jurisdiction, no place else if you are doing the 130/K3 route.

Our NOA for the I 130 sent to Nebraska is 9/4/02. I just checked and its still with Nebraska. So it may be that they are pulling yours for your AOS.
