I have heard that the INS prefers to see a tax transcript from the IRS instead of
copying the tax papers to prove that the sponser can meet the minimum income needed
to sponser somebody. Such a transcript can be ordered with form 4506. Has anybody
done that? If so what did you mark for question 8? If not what exactly did you send?
Only a copy of the W-2 or W-2 and the whole 1040?

Thanks,

Robert

1. there are a FEW consulates where copies of tax returns are PREFERRED to the tax
transcripts, namely Pakistan and INdia, from what I have read here.
2. Save your self some grief and just CALL the IRS for the tax
transcripts:1-800-829-1040 (if you have a local IRS office in your town, just GO
there, it's quicker to call or go there)
