How to return to home country after coming on K1
Hi everybody,
Got a question I'm hoping someone will be able to answer for me.
Lets say that you get approved for I-129F and then your fiance gets approved at her interview and all is well. She comes here and the happy couple get married.
Then if she wants to go back to her original country for a short visit, how would she do this?
I know it has something to do with Advanced Parole. My questions though:
1) Does the AOS have to get approved first? Does the AOS get filed locally? For example, since we live in MN, would we file in St. Paul? Or still dreaded NSC?
2) How soon after that can we file AP? Where does it get processed?
3) Do you have to have some really big reason to want to go back right away (like family illness)? Or are you just asking persmission?
4) Anyone know typical approval time for this? Again we live in Minnesota.
Thanks so much in advance for any help!
Sunny

You file locally at the St. Paul/Bloomington Office. You file everything at one time and according to the filing experience page you file in person. The EAD is issued the same day and the A/P takes 5 days and is mailed to you.

No reason required other than vacation

AOS took 5 months in October 2001
