Default How Long does it take

At the end of February this year I came to the USA with my wife. She is a US
Citizen (born here). We came here to help my wife's mother as she had
recently lost her husband. My Australian drivers license expired shortly
after arriving so I obtained a Florida drivers license which was valid till
the end of August (my Visa expiry date). After four months we decided to
stay as my wife was very happy being "home". I then applied for residency
and Work permission in July this year. At the end of August as my Florida
drivers license was about to expire I went to the local INS office
(Jacksonville) to see what sort of documentation I could get to provide the
motor license people to renew my Florida drivers license. The issued me the
EAD that day and gave me the medical forms to organize a medical. They also
gave me the documentation to organize my finger prints taken at the local
Police dept.

I had the medicals and the finger printing done. It is now approaching two
months since I had the medicals and according to the documentation they are
only valid for a period of three months.

My question is... How long is it likely to be until we get called up for
interview??

I don't fancy the idea of having to get the medicals done again as they are
quite expensive. and now that I am working it would mean taking a whole day
off work to redo the medicals (the ins approved medical office is 100 miles
from my home).

My understanding. I searched for info on this, because I
married on a K-1 and had my medical in Amsterdam. But INS
lost the medical report. The rules as far as I understand
say: the medical exam will be valid, as long as you apply
for AOS within one year after that.

See:
Number two.

Otherwise they might force you into another hassle with all
the costs. So I would say, we both are clear
