Default Hopefully a really simple question

I need to find out what address the INS have me listed under, in case I need
to fill out an AR-11.
There was confusion as to whether or not one had been filled out for me
previously on my behalf.

thanks.

If you are a permanent resident phone the number that was detailed in the letter you got with your card.

If you are on a visa go to the INS office local to you and find out. You need to be clear on what address they hold for you. Especially if they are trying to correspond with you.

(This is especially important if you are a conditional permanent resident since when you file your I-751 you will need to include all your addresses along with dates).

If you are a PR the address they used to send the GC is what they have. Tom

I don't have a GC yet, that's why I need to make sure they have the right
address, so when I get my fingerprint notice, I won't miss the letter.
I got my EAD in May 2002.
thanks again.

Go down to your INS field office if they allow walk-ins...

The AR-11 is not the form that you need to be concerned about. That form
goes to a black hole in Washington, D.C., and it may be a very long time
before all the AR-11s are entered into a database. That form has no
reliable effect on actual address records which are used in mailing you
actual useful items like approval notices, fingerprints notices or PR cards.

You need to be concerned about the INS Service Center or INS district
office, whichever is responsible for your I-485 case. With the INS Service
Center, if you have your Receipt Notice with a control number, you can call
and wait to talk with an Immigration Information Officer, and check the
mailing address in their records.

With the INS district office, there is only one way that I know of to check
the address which the office has in its records, and that is by inquiring at
the INS office in person. Go very early in the morning.

You may be able to get your Congressperson to check the address for you.
Call the local office of the Congressperson and ask them to make an inquiry.
