here's our timeline for parents getting green card based on USC child
Just wanted to post a timeline. My brother, a USC filed for our
parents. I-130 was filed in Aug 2001, and approved Dec 2001. They
decided to do consular processing, and after a little over a year,
their interview letter just arrived for Feb 26, 2003!!
So time from submitting I-130 to getting interview is about a yr and 6
months.
Goodluck to everyone else.

Hi,
Can you please tell us at what center were the I130s filed?
I filed via Texas service center last year in february and I130s are
still pending for approval.
Thanks
Corina

wow thats a while, my brother lives in Michigan, but I'm not sure
which service center it is. It is whichever services the state of
Michigan, I think Nebraska.
A yr to get your I-130 approved is crazy, it should not take that long
for an immediate relative!!!

What category? Some of the preference categories (the ones that have quota
waits) have I-130 processing times of many years, while immediate
relatives are typically processed much faster.

Re: here's our timeline for parents getting green card based on USC child
Hi Ingo,
I filed for my parents last year (so they would be under imediate
relative category. priority date is february 7th). I only received
first NOA, and nothing else. I called TSC numerous times last year
just to hear the processing time going from initially of 150 days to
300-600 days for processing. Talked to INS officers as well, and
called congressman...I really don't know what to do at this point, if
it keeps going like this it will take years.Any advice would be
appreciated.
Corina

My parents had their medical exam and interview today, the embassy let
them have it 2 weeks earlier So now once they get the results from
their exam, they are good to go, so Welcome to America mom and Dad.
Guess my strong headed bro came in handy after all. Haha
