Help - Russian Immigrant Wife's Mother Unable to Visit US
My wife's mother was denied a tourist visa to visit us, apparently because she
doesn't have a good job and is not married (her divorced husband died 5 years ago.)
She does however own an apartment and has family both in Moscow and outside.
I understand that once denied there is little chance of getting a different verdict
upon reapplication, and I don't know on what basis to reapply anyway.
Any suggestions?
Thanks much

Re: Help - Russian Immigrant Wife's Mother Unable to Visit US
Tough situation, especially coming from Russia.
Presenting a convincing case to the Consulate is the only solution. It does not hurt
to try again, only with a strong case. Make sure there is a reason for visit and
substantial evidence of her ties to Russia.
