In view of the fact that I have had to terminate my relationship with the incompetent lawyer who screwed up every document..I am now preparing the forms myself.
I do not know for sure if he gave proper advice on this critical issue, so here it is.
I have a domicile in Florida, where my wife and step daughters are. I am currently still in Canada and working. Intent is to move to Florida prior to interview.
Question is:
On the I-864 do I put Sarasota as my address and the Canadian one as my mailing address? Or the other way around. I have put USA as country of domicile, because I have a domicile there.
Likewise on the I-130 and other forms asking for address... Do I put the Florida address? continuing with the position that Canada is my mailing address.
I have everything finished and ready to go..except for uncertainty about that issue.
Thanks in advance an answer to this dilema.

Perhaps Noorah101 can explain what she and her husband did when they filed for his AOS. Actually I believe she gave you her experience in your very first post here.
Good luck

These are AOS documents, right? My layman's opinion is that you can use Florida as your address on all the forms. The mail you'll be receiving will be for your wife and her kids, anyway...such as NOA receipts, EAD, AP, interview appointment letter, etc. Since she is there and getting the mail there, she can let you know when things come in, and when the interview date is. I don't really see any sense in using a Canada address at all...your work there is temporary and you'll be returning to Florida to live at a later date. That's my take on it, anyway, but I'm not a lawyer.
Best Wishes,
Rene

Remember, you will have a chance to explain any of this in person when you go for your interview, IF the officer asks you about it.

Okay -- here's mine.
Working from the premise that:
1) USCIS are grossly incompetent and answerable to nobody, and
2) USCIS get more pissed like little children if they think you're trying to get one over them,
I'd
1) Ensure that the mailing address was one which was secure and emptied regularly, and
2) Ensure that if my other address data did not fit within their narrowly defined terms, attach an addendum to the form and reference it from each of the address boxes clearly explaining my various addresses so there is no possible opportunity for them to accuse me of skulduggery.

As for the other point..I have indicated on the forms my last address outside of the U.S as the current Canadian address. My Florida address was established in December.
